The present “UPM Strategic Plan – 2001-2010” has established 8 aims to realize its vision. One of the aims is to produce quality graduates who are competitive and resilient through life-long learning. The objective of the aim is to strengthen the teaching and learning system at UPM. Thus, it enables T&L Development to provide assistance in selecting and tailoring appropriate teaching techniques and strategies to further enhance teaching effectiveness. Hence, T&L Development strives to enhance and widen the following dimensions :
1. Staff Development
2. Assessment and Evaluation
3. Technology in Teaching & Learning
In parallel to the Strategic Plan, to strengthen the Teaching and Learning system, our strategies are focusing in :
Providing a student-centered learning system.
Reviewing periodically the curriculum with emphasis on course objectives, structure and presentation
Enhancing the utilization of ICT in curriculum design, especially in the teaching and learning process
Providing excellent support systems and facilities to cater student needs
Enhancing the quality of the student advisory system
Enhancing the existing system of teaching assessment by students and by peers
Producing excellent academic staff
Establishing an incentive system for academic and support staff in recognition for excellence in teaching and student advisement
